Test & Tag FAQs

How often do I need test and tag?

Depends on your environment. Office: 5yr minimum, annual recommended. Workshops/kitchens: 12 months. Construction/hire: 3 months. Hostile environments: 6 months. All per AS/NZS 3760.

Does WorkSafe actually check?

Yes - it's the first thing asked for in audits or after a workplace incident. No register = no defence.

What gets tested?

Visual inspection plus PAT test (earth continuity, insulation resistance, polarity). Pass items get a tag with tester ID and next-test date. Failed items get flagged for repair or disposal.

What format is the report?

Digital register - spreadsheet or PDF, whatever format your insurer wants. Includes re-test reminders so you don't miss compliance dates.

One-off or ongoing contract?

Both available. Most clients go ongoing contract with auto-scheduling - we remind you when it's due, you don't have to think about it.
